Brazil Project

Our mission is to generate a conversation about the environmental issues in Brazil, specifically the ever-worsening pollution in Guanabara Bay.

THIS IS ECHO.

Echo has a leaf symbol on its chest that harnesses superpower abilities.

Echo has super eyesight that allows it to scan for trash and other contaminants in the Bay from miles away.

ECHO'S FAMILY WAS LOST DUE TO THE BAY DESTRUCTION.

While out searching for food near the Bay, Echo's parents became entangled in rings of plastic, causing them to be unable to escape the rapid flood coming overhead. Fortunately for Echo, Echo was saved by the Wise, Old Mountains.

THIS IS CANSU.

Cansu has immunity to toxins in water and ability to expand and hold trash in mouth and regurgitate back on land.

PRETTY DARN COOL, RIGHT?

THIS IS BO.

Bo has super speed. Bo devotes its speed to freeing the land from litter and other contaminants while teaming up with Echo and Cansu to reduce trash in the Bay.

AND THESE ARE THE SUGARLOAF MOUNTAINS.

They serve as the voice that blatantly decries human action.

Having witnessed the rapid deterioration of their home for the past century, the mountains, old and wise, are dismayed by recent human activity and ignorance towards the Earth. The mountains have no superpower abilities but are left to suffer from human pollution contaminating the Bay, or their source of nutrients.

LEARN MORE ABOUT BRAZIL

Guanabara Bay in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is one of the selected sites for the 2016 Olympic Games. The current status of the Bay is concerning as the water quality is horrifically contaminated with human feces, dead fish, and other hazardous material.
